A fascinating journey into ancient Egyptian civilization comes to life at the Scuderie del Quirinale with the exhibition "Treasures of the Pharaohs," an extraordinary event bringing together 130 masterpieces from Egypt's most important museums, many of which are being exhibited in Italy for the first time. Curated by Dr. Tarek El Awady, the exhibition recounts over three millennia of history through six thematic sections dedicated to the divine role of the pharaohs, society, spirituality, afterlife rituals, and the most recent archaeological discoveries. Among the most iconic pieces are the Triad of Menkaure, the gold sarcophagus of Queen Ahhotep, the gold funerary mask of Amenemope, and the funerary shroud of Pharaoh Psusennes I. The exhibition also offers insights into the mysterious Golden City, brought to light by recent excavations and fundamental to understanding the daily life and organization of the artisans serving the court.
